Democracy for Puerto Rico (DfPR) is a registered 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporation working to advance the interests of the people of Puerto Rico by demanding an immediate and permanent solution to the archipelago’s colonial-territorial status.

The political disenfranchisement of millions of citizens in Puerto Rico is an injustice, rooted in racism and xenophobia, which we can no longer tolerate. This is particularly true at a time when voting rights are under threat all across the country.

The people of Puerto Rico have demanded an end to the current territorial status for nearly a decade now, and Congress has a moral obligation to act. Failing to do so is an affront to the principle of government by consent of the governed.
